Stain Remover for Bathroom Tiles

Brass

As an alternative to a commercial brass cleaner, brass can be cleaned with the POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner. Saturate a rag with the cleaner, then wipe. Rinse clean. Buff with mineral oil. Use caution when cleaning brass; harsh cleaners will leave a film. If you are using a cleaner on brass for the first time, be sure to read the label and try it on a hidden area first.

Chrome

Using harsh chemicals on chrome can cause etching and tiny scratches in the surface which then attract future build-up. To restore chrome to its original shine, simply spray POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner to the chrome and allow it to sit for a few minutes. Rinse with clean water. For hard water stains, saturate a cloth with white vinegar and place it over the hard water stain. This will keep the vinegar in contact with the stain. Wait 15 minutes, then scrub with a nonmetallic scouring pad or an old toothbrush. Rinse clean.

Fiberglass Showers

To remove yellow stains from your white fiberglass shower, try using a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 3 parts water. If the stains persist, you can try using a commercial cleaner containing oxalic acid.

Glass and Mirrors

Spray glass or mirrors with SEE-CLEAR Window and Glass Cleaner, then wipe with a lint-free cloth, such as a coffee filter.

Hair Brushes and Combs

Use a dilution of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate and hot water to clean hairbrushes and combs.

Hairspray Build-up

When your mirror or wall becomes dull from hairspray build-up, wipe it with rubbing alcohol or ammonia.

Toilet Cleanup

For an easy toilet cleanup, spray the POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner around the inside of the toilet and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. When time is up, run your toilet brush over the area. Adding vinegar to the water in between cleanings will help keep the inside of the bowl clean and fresh. For tough toilet bowl stains, try a commercial rust remover or add a cup of bleach to the toilet water, let it sit for 15 minutes, then flush.

Lime and Mineral Deposits

Lime and other mineral deposits from hard water (white residue) can be dissolved with a commercial cleaner that contains organic acids designed specifically for this purpose (stay away from products that contain hydrochloride salts). For a homemade alternative, try using a paste of cream of tartar and Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate. Scrub the paste lightly into the stain and allow to dry. Rinse thoroughly and buff dry.

Mold and Mildew

To remove mold and mildew from your bathroom fixtures and tiles, spray POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner on the mildew, wait a few minutes then scrub with an old toothbrush. If the stains are particularly stubborn, use a second or third application.

Porcelain Sinks, Tubs and Toilets

To remove stains from porcelain sinks, tubs or toilets, simply saturate paper towels with POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner and place the towels over the stains for 30 minutes. Rinse well.

Rubber Bath Mat Mold and Mildew Removal

If you’d rather not spend your bathroom cleaning time scrubbing mold and mildew from your rubber non-slip bath mat, be sure to hang it after each use. If your bath mat has become a victim of mold and mildew, spray it with the POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner. Allow it to sit for 15 minutes, then rinse clean. For an even easier clean up, soak the mat directly in the tub with 1 cup of Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate for each 2 inches of water.

Rust

Rust stains on porcelain bathroom fixtures can be removed with a commercial rust remover containing oxalic acid. For a homemade alternative, try using a mixture of lemon juice and salt.

Shower Curtain Cleaning

Here is a quick and easy way to remove soap film from plastic shower curtains. Place several large bath towels in the washing machine along with the shower curtain. Add 1/2 cup vinegar. Remove curtain before the spin cycle and hang immediately. Soaking shower curtains in salt water will prevent them from mildew.

Shower Head Lime and Mineral Deposits

To remove lime and other mineral deposits from your shower head, remove the head and place it in a pot containing a mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Bring the mixture to a boil and the lime and mineral deposits should come right off.

Tile and Grout

To remove dirt, mold and mildew from ceramic tile and grout, simply spray POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner on the tile then allow it to penetrate for approximately 5 minutes. Rinse with clean water. Do not use scouring powders or other abrasives which can scratch the finish of the tiles. For a more abrasive action, sprinkle baking soda on a nylon scouring pad or toothbrush and use it with the POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner. If the stains are particularly stubborn, use use a second or third application.

Urine

In order to remove human or pet urine odor, you need to completely remove the odor source. Simply spray POWERHOUSE Bathroom and Tile Cleaner on the area. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes, then wipe clean. Repeat if necessary.
